Small Group Leaders: Group Registration 2026

Small Group Leaders: Register your small group using this form! This form is for those who are already serving as Small Group Leaders at TPC. If you have not joined the Dream Team, attended small groups at TPC, and/or have not gone through leader training and onboarding, please start here with our New Leader Application, and the team will reach out to you!

Before registering your group make sure you have all your details (day, time, description, curriculum, co leaders info) ready to add. This form is what we will use to add your group the the roster.

CO-LEADER

Co-leaders are also trained small group leaders. If the person you want to lead a group with has not had SG Leader training/joined Dream Team/attended Church Essentials they will need to complete this prior to leading a small group.
(If there is someone you would like to mentor to be a leader, you are welcome to have them in your group and spend time encouraging them to practice leading! Responsibilities such as: helping you pray, leading and facilitating questions, and/or meeting with them to share how they can become a leader, are all ways you can mentor someone and encourage them to become a small group leader in the future!)

Co-leaders are not required but highly encouraged. It helps to have someone to share the small group leadership responsibilities and for planning a weekly group. (for example, if you have a planned absence the other leader would lead group that night.)

GROUP INFO

If your group is only for men, or only for women, please make a note of that in the section below that asks "Additional Group Details or Criteria." If your group will allow for both men and women to attend (not necessarily married: a bible study, recreation, or fellowship group) please indicate "co-ed" in the additional information section at the end of this application.

The name of your group is for the roster on the website.
  • Please try to keep it to 5 words or less.
  • Groups MEN only or WOMEN only please consider having that in the title so it is clear to those signing up.
  • Age specific or stage of life (moms, young adults etc) please also consider that info in the title. Examples: Moms on Purpose; Wisdom for Living (Young Adults); Praying the Psalms (Women's Group); or Basketball Night (Men's Group)

This will appear on the website to let people know what to expect at your group! Please consider adding information such as:
  • Who the group is for: men, women, co-ed, families, anyone welcome, moms, parents, married couples etc)
  • What the purpose is: prayer, bible study, book (including if they need to purchase a book or study guide) fellowship etc.
  • Brief description of the curriculum, planned activity, if there will be food/snacks
  • If meeting at public location, what kind of place is it (coffee, eating meal together etc)

These options will be on a drop-down menu to filter groups. It helps people search for groups that fit what they are looking for. Select all that apply.

  • If using something from RightNow Media, please indicate below that it is on that platform.
  • All curriculum and authors not on this list will need to be reviewed by our team before your group begins. If our team has any questions, they will reach out to you.

MEETING INFORMATION

What time will your group be meeting?

Times that are not off limits, but historically less attended are Saturday mornings, Weekday mornings, and Sun/Sat/Wed/Thurs evenings.
  • Consider who you are trying to get to come to your group. For example, consider that Wednesday nights TPC has an AWANA children's program that might conflict with some families if you are doing a group geared towards parents, families, married couples (with kids) etc.
  • Thursday evenings are when Worship and Production Team have rehearsal.
  • Sunday evenings are when Welcome Dinner, and Purpose Youth meet.

Historically successful days as far as attendance are typically Monday through Thursday Nights. Early morning breakfast/coffee groups are also usually well attended on weekdays (if early enough to allow people to get to work.)

MEETING LOCATION

This is what will be stated on the website. If your group is at your house it could be "Johnson Home" or "Jane's Home."
If your group is meeting at public location please describe where it is, such as: "Dunkin' Donuts I-35/Cibolo Valley" or "Black Rifle Coffee - Live Oak"
***There will be an approximate map on the roster, with exact location showing after someone has been added to the group. Consider adding a location identifier in the title, such as: Johnson Home (off Schertz Pkwy and I-35).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Provide specific details or additional info here.
  • Examples of details: for single people, for moms, for moms of adult children, those who have had loss/grief, for people who own their own business, for teachers, retired people etc.)
  • If the group is open to men and women please indicate "co-ed" here.

Small Group Leaders Role Description, Expectations, and Honor Code

For a refresher of the expectations of leading small groups at TPC, please read and review the Leader Honor Code AND the Role Description below. Then, check the box that you agree to both.

When you become a leader at The Purpose Church, you’re committing to live your life at a higher standard. Everyone grows! As a leader, it’s especially important that you pursue learning and growth throughout your lifetime and demonstrate mature behavior as a follower of Christ. The Bible is our foundation for what it means to be mature in our thoughts, words, and actions. When you assume responsibility for leading others, and take on the title of leader, you must remember that your behavior and reputation represent The Purpose Church and the body of Christ. For this reason, it’s important that all leaders are aligned with our church beliefs and core values. For clarity, some specific examples are listed below.

Standards that we ask of you:

• Strive to demonstrate Biblical standards in speech and attitude in all situations
• Maintain a daily time of prayer
• Read your Bible and apply His Word to your actions
• Present a clean appearance

Behaviors we expect that you refrain from:
• Profanity
• Overindulgence of alcoholic beverages
• Dishonest activity
• Illegal drugs
• Pornography
• Sexual immorality
• Cohabitating with a non-spouse
• Illegal activities (behavior that is contrary to governmental laws)
• Any and all behaviors that do not line up with the Word of God

Environments in which we uphold our responsibility to honor Christ and Church by:
• Maintaining alcohol-free environments for small group or team gatherings and meetings. This means not meeting in venues that are specifically intended for alcohol consumption (bars) or allowing alcohol to be brought into the environment (such as a tasting or meal with alcohol provided by the host, leader, or guests).
• Maintain tobacco-free environments for small group gatherings and meetings.
• Creating positive social media environments by being mindful and aware of our effects of what we post on social media. As a leader, your posts represent not only yourself, but His church as well. Seek to be a positive voice and reflection of Christ through your social media platforms.

I realize that by accepting this Leadership Commitment, I am not adopting a list of “don'ts” that are restrictive or legalistic. Instead, agreeing to uphold this Leadership Commitment shows that God has freed me to live in ways that reflect the life-change that only He can bring, and I am an example to others and not a stumbling block. I am a new creation who gives evidence that God accepts me where I am, but loves us so much He won’t let me stay there!
